Driving left of center leads to drug discovery

A 35-year-old Red Springs woman faces five charges after a traffic stop when she was allegedly driving left of center failing to maintain lane control, according to a statement by Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement to Sandhills Sentinel.

Fields said Cassi Wagoner was driving in the 100 block of McReynolds Street in Carthage when she was pulled over by detectives on Monday.

“Subsequently, after probable cause was obtained, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle which resulted in the discovery of cocaine, methylphenidate, and items of drug paraphernalia,” said Fields.

Wagoner was arrested on charges of felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II-controlled substance-(methylphenidate), simple possession of schedule II-controlled substance-(methylphenidate), possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving left of center.

Wagoner was placed at the Moore County Detention Center without bond on a 48-hour hold.

She is due in court on Sept. 11 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
