After a stormy Saturday evening in eastern Moore County, a home in Cameron caught fire. The call went out around 7 p.m. for a mobile home on fire behind a residence in the 300 block of Cranes Creek Road.

When the fire units reached the location, the house was entirely engulfed in flames. They began a lengthy fire attack and brought the blaze under control, but it was a total loss.

The mobile home, which also had an additional living space attached to the rear, was determined to be abandoned and did not have power.

After speaking with officials on the scene, it is possible that a lightning strike sparked the fire, but the official cause is under investigation by the Moore County Fire Marshal.
