Florida man faces bank fraud charges

A man from Florida is facing several fraud charges, said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel.

“On January 4^th, 2024, The Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of bank fraud in the Carthage area of Moore County,” said Fields. “The report was received after thousands of dollars were fraudulently obtained from the reporting victim’s bank account. Detectives quickly identified Jesse Jose Reyes, from Miami Gardens, Florida, as a suspect in this case and arrested him once probable cause was obtained.”

Jesse Reyes, 25, of Miami Gardens, Florida, was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretense, identity theft, financial card theft, financial card fraud, accessing computers, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle dwelling or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI-controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Reyes was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $112,500 secured bond with a Moore County District Court date of Jan. 17.

Reyes was also entered wanted out of Florida for fraud and unlawful use of credit/debit cards.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
