Grunts fall to Patriots, 58-12

On Friday night, the Father Capodanno varsity football team lost another tough home game and dropped to 1-4 on the season as the Faith Christian Patriots came into town and outscored the Grunts 58-12.

The Grunts struggled in the first half, with turnovers helping the Patriots take a 58-0 lead at halftime. However, the home team came out fired up and didn’t allow their opponent to put more points on the scoreboard for the entire second half.

In the third quarter, Grunts sophomore quarterback Ian Hicks connected on a quick pass to the left to freshman Canon Capps, who fought through three defenders, dragging them into the end zone for an eight-yard score.

The fourth quarter was all Grunts again as they limited the visiting team to only a single three-and-out possession before they drove down the field once again, capping it off with a spectacular twenty-yard pass from Hicks, this time to senior, Luke Moon, who hauled it in while blanketed by two Patriot defenders in the end zone for another touchdown.
