Authorities were called to an Aberdeen home on Wednesday evening after receiving a report that a Jeep Grand Cherokee had struck several vehicles and crashed into the side of an occupied house.
The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. at a residence off Forest Place. Authorities on the scene explained that the SUV drove through a neighboring yard, crashed into a picnic table, hit two parked vehicles, and then slammed into the side of the home.
According to initial reports, the impact was strong enough to shift the house on its foundation. The side of the house, the chimney, and even the roof sustained damage from the impact.
Both of the parked vehicles also sustained damage where they were struck.
Emergency responders stated that the female driver appeared unaware of what had happened. It’s not clear at the time of this report if she had a medical episode. She was taken by Moore County EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, and was alert at the time she was transported.
An adult and two children were inside the home at the time of the crash, but no one inside was injured.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. No further details were released regarding the cause.Â
The Pinebluff Fire Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Moore County EMS, and N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
