Man airlifted after motorcycle accident in Northern Moore

A man was airlifted to a hospital after a motorcycle accident in the Glendon area of Northern Moore County on Saturday.

The man on the motorcycle was traveling on Glendon Carthage Road near the intersection of Putnam Glendon Road, heading toward Carthage around 7:15 p.m.

A female driving a Nissan sedan was following behind the motorcycle when the motorcycle began to slow down. The driver of the car didn’t slow down, according to highway patrol. The woman hit the motorcycle in the rear, and the impact caused the man to eject from the bike.

The impact caused significant damage to the sedan and the motorcycle. The entire front bumper was off the car where the impact occurred. Marks from the motorcycle were visible on the road and stretched about ten feet. The bike was lying on the side of the road.
