Man arrested in Aberdeen shooting investigation

Aberdeen Police Department said a 21-year-old man from Longs, South Carolina, was arrested in connection to a shooting in 2022.

Javee Myers was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, and assault by pointing a gun, according to a press release by the Aberdeen Police Department. 

The Aberdeen Police Department said they were alerted to a gunshot victim at the Marathon gas station on Highway 1. The shooting occurred on June 6, 2022, at Woodgreen Apartments during a robbery.

The investigation led the Aberdeen Police Department to identify Myers as the suspect in the case.

Myers was transported from the Georgetown County Detention Center in South Carolina to Moore County Detention Center on Oct. 27.

His bond was set at $1 million. He is due in court on Nov. 11 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
