A 39-year-old Jackson Springs man has been charged with one count of first-degree burglary, one count of kidnapping, and one count of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Moore County Sheriff’s Department and the Robbins Police Department responded to a Robbins’ residence on Saturday for a report of domestic assault according to an advisory issued Monday by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
“When deputies arrived on the scene, they found that a male subject, who was being detained by Robbins Police, had assaulted a female and minor child in the home,” said the advisory. As a result of the investigation that followed, deputies arrested Millford Vega Martinez.
Police say the individuals knew each other, and this was not a random act of violence.
Martinez has a court date on Sept. 12 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
