Sager named head of middle school at O'Neal

The O’Neal School named Elizabeth Sager as head of middle school. This comes after the school’s extensive search and interview process for the middle school head position following seven months of Sager serving as interim head of middle school.

Sager, who joined O’Neal in 2020 as a learning specialist and became the student support department chair in 2021, has been a key contributor to the school community and its students’ success, said the school in a news release.

“I am happy to announce that Interim Head of Middle School Elizabeth Sager has accepted the permanent position,” said Head of School Dr. Dale McInnis. “Her commitment to O’Neal is exceptional, and I am confident she will provide her students, families, and faculty with strong and effective support and leadership.”

With over 20 years of experience in individualized education, Sager has built a career focused on helping students leverage their unique skills to grow academically and personally, said the release. This focus is particularly suited to the middle school environment, where her leadership will continue to foster a thriving community for students, faculty, and families.

Sager’s tenure at The O’Neal School has been marked by innovation and dedication, according to the release. As interim head of middle school, she established a division-wide course schedule, created behavioral guidelines through the Six Pillars program, and implemented a new teacher mentorship initiative.

Her background also includes a robust career in education, including roles as an exceptional children specialist and a diagnostician, where she led professional development and compliance initiatives across school districts.

Sager holds a Master of Education in special education from the University of Northern Colorado. She is certified in various instructional and leadership programs, including TEACCH Autism Training. Her breadth of expertise reflects her dedication to ensuring that each student reaches their fullest potential, said the release.
