Welcome to the next installment of Meet Moore People. This series is dedicated to the people all around us who make Moore County a great place to live and work.

Many times we don’t know their name or anything about them. They are the smiling face that helps us in the store, bank, or any of the myriad places we go and interact with people every day.

Kings Barbershop has been a staple in Aberdeen for almost ten years. Jerome King is the man to see if you need a haircut, and he also sells used cars, so you can get a cut and a car in one place.

Jerome is a Moore County native who has lived here his entire life. When asked to describe himself, he said, “I am very busy and love to work, and I also think I am a great guy.”

His favorite part of his job “is to make sure that everyone gets a great haircut, and to see someone smile and enjoy coming to Kings Barbershop.”

He loves the people in Moore County, and he feels very safe here. “I have lived here my entire life, and this is one of the safest places I have ever been to,” said Jerome.

In what little spare time he has, he is active in his church, and he is also a musician. Additionally, He loves spending time with his family.

Jerome’s wife, Melita, works in the shop as the assistant manager and also works in the medical field.
