During the month of June, Moore County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies averaged nine minutes and twenty eight seconds while responding to 2,862 calls for service. They served 390 civil and 122 criminal papers which included 12 domestic violence orders, made 101 arrests, conducted 863 business checks and transported nine mental patients. Deputies issued 94 traffic citations: 16 citations for driving with a revoked license, 56 for speeding in excess of 15 miles per hour over the posted speed limit and one for driving while impaired. Their Volunteers contributed 320 hours during the month of June.
Sheriff’s Response Team was recalled to assist in a homicide, conducted 56 traffic stops, eight checking stations and four saturation events resulting in 59 citations and three misdemeanor drug charges. They conducted five sex offender checks, executed three search warrants and a saturation event as well as a DWI checkpoint both resulting in 90 citations, four misdemeanor drug charges and one arrest.
Animal Services admitted 63 dogs and 62 cats, returned 15 dogs to their owners, facilitated the adoption of 34 dogs and 38 cats, conducted 150 field and 48 shelter rabies vaccinations and conducted two adoption events. Deputies investigated 10 animal bite reports, responded to 65 stray-animal calls and issued two animal-related citations.
Detectives arrested 26 suspects totaling 63 felony and 11 misdemeanor charges, opened 93 investigations and recovered $23,450.20 in stolen property. Arrests included: one for murder, six for robbery, one for assault on an officer with a firearm, nine for breaking and/or entering/larceny, five for fraud, one for assault, one for drug violations and two for firearm violations.
The Narcotics Division opened 20 investigations and arrested 24 suspects on a total of 104 drug and alcohol violations; one suspect arrested for doctor shopping/prescription fraud. Narcotic Deputies seized: 67 grams of marijuana, 98 dosage units of prescription pills, 1245 grams of cocaine, nine dosage units of crack-cocaine, 28 grams of methamphetamine, five firearms and $860.00 in US currency; the estimated street value of all drugs seized was approximately $80,560.00. Additionally, Deputies conducted 65 ABC store security checks, 12 ABC premise-outlets inspected and visited 92 additional ABC premise-outlets.
Sheriff’s Office conducted five sex offender checks, registered two new offenders, updated the status of 28 offenders and is monitoring a total of 114 Moore County registered sex offenders.
In June the Sheriff’s Office issued 201 pistol purchase permits, 49 new conceal-to-carry permits and renewed 61; totaling 7,584 Moore County citizens with conceal-to-carry permits.
