Man charged in Biscoe Walmart fatal shooting

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey Tuesday announced the arrest of Nicole Price, 44, of Cameron. Price was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

According to special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division, Price allegedly attempted to obtain money from GEICO Insurance Co. by claiming $2,048.95 in falsified multiple receipts for automobile insurance, including towing and glass repair.

According to the arrest warrants, the alleged offenses occurred on Jan. 31, 2023, and she was charged on June 25 in Harnett County.

Price was arrested on July 1. Her bond was set at $2,500. She is scheduled to appear in Harnett County District Court on July 16.

“Insurance fraud hits consumers in the wallet,” Commissioner Causey said. “Approximately 20 cents of every insurance premium dollar go to covering the cost of fraud. I’m fighting this by aggressively pursuing and prosecuting insurance fraud in North Carolina.”
