Vass-Carthage Road near the intersection of Dicks Hill Road

A traffic accident Monday morning just outside of Vass shut down the roadway and left one vehicle with heavy front end damage.

The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. on Vass-Carthage Road near the intersection of Dicks Hill Road when a Honda van traveling east rear-ended a GMC truck attempting to turn into David’s Service and Repair Center.

Emergency units were dispatched and quickly arrived on scene to find the van in the road with heavy front end damage, and the truck in the parking area of the service center with very minimal damage to the rear.

The male driver of the truck did not require treatment by EMS. The female driver of the van was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

One lane of the road was shut down while it could be cleared. NC Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the accident.

Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire Department, Moore County EMS and N.C. Highway Patrol.
