One airlifted after motorcycle accident

A motorcyclist suffered nonlife-threatening injuries after crashing on Mill Road in Jackson Springs Tuesday morning.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the driver of the motorcycle tried to pass a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in a no-passing zone. The driver of the Silverado attempted to turn left onto Currie Mill Road as the motorcycle was passing. The driver of the Silverado was uninjured.

One airlifted after motorcycle crash

Troopers say the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by helicopter as a precaution but did suffer a leg injury. The driver will be charged with passing over a solid double yellow line.

West End Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and UNC AirCare all responded to the crash.
