January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.  It is a day designated for citizens to support and show appreciation for law enforcement.

“It is so important that the men and women of our law enforcement agencies know they are honored and supported for their bravery, selflessness, and sacrifice,” said Sheriff Neil Godfrey. “Members of law enforcement chose this profession because they have a desire to serve and protect, and while they perform their duties without expectation of recognition, it is humbling that our nation would choose January 9th as a day of thanks.”

With honor and respect, Sandhills Sentinel would like to say thank you to all law enforcement, especially Moore County officers, for putting your lives on the line every day for our communities.

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was founded in 2015 with the goal of thanking officers across the country for all the daily sacrifices they make for our communities.
