Joan Breen Molloy, 86 of Whispering Pines died after a brief illness on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
She was born in Orange, NJ on April 19, 1931 to Marion McCabe and John Buckley Breen.
She grew up in Scarsdale, New York where she met her husband to be and was married there on December 27, 1951.
After raising her family, Joan enjoyed a fulfilling career starting as a Realtor in Scarsdale and later as a senior Para Legal at the firm of Skadden & Arps in New York City. She and Paul retired in 1995 and moved to Whispering Pines where they enjoyed 22 years together.
Joan was very active in her community throughout her life, both in Scarsdale and Whispering Pines. She was a member of the Scarsdale Junior League, member of Fox Meadow Tennis Club and Scarsdale Golf Club, Girl Scouts, President of the Whispering Pines Thrift shop, Bridge club, Investors Club, and Book club. She enjoyed many friends and had a love of entertaining.
She is survived by her loving husband Paul of 66 years; four of her five children, Lee Eshenbaugh (Michael) of Calera, AL; Jackie Nichols (Bill) of Astoria, OR; Mike Molloy (Marie) of Aberdeen, NC; Julie Ford (Richard) of Charles Town, WV; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, J. D. Molloy.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines from 11:00am-1: 00 pm with a time of sharing memories of Joan at 12 noon.
