Cathy Sheffield Johnson (“Catdog”), 73, of Aberdeen, passed peacefully surrounded by her family and friends at the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital on Sunday, Nov. 26th, 2023.
Born in Montgomery County, Nov 24, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Peggy Jo Matthews Sheffield. Cathy moved to Clay Road Farm when she was young. After her high school graduation, she would start working for Goodyear, a career that lasted 30 years. After her retirement in the early 2000s, Cathy returned to the work force, joining the Kirkland team and becoming a part of their family.
In addition to her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by her sister Joanne Cole. She is survived by her son, H. Wayne Clark (Melissa) and daughter, Leslie Teglas (Adam). She was the sister of Cyndy Nall, Diane Williams, Clarence Sheffield and Butch Sheffield. Cathy was the loving grandmother of Abigail (Rasheed), Brady, Zachary (Caroline) and Lauryn. She is also survived by 4 great – grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, Nov 30th with visitation starting at 1:00 pm and services at 2:00 pm at the Victory Baptist Church, 915 Brinkley Rd. Carthage.
