Clyde Revere Reid, Sr., 88 of Aberdeen, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, surrounded by his family. 

He was born November 3, 1931 in Harmony, NC to the late James Lafayette Reid and Bessie Ima Crouse Reid, both of whom died at an early age.  Clyde entered Barium Springs Orphanage in Iredell County at the age of five and remained there through high school.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Reid, brother Dwight Reid, and sister, Mary Reid Twombly, and his namesake grandson, Clyde Revere Reid, III (Clay). 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Alma Parrish Reid, his son Clyde Revere Reid, Jr., daughters Sondra Gail Miller (Kevin) and Linda Reid Oldham, grandchildren, James Nickolus Odum, Christopher Adam Miller, Shelly Marie Oldham, and Skylar Ivey Reid, and great-grandchildren, Michelle, Patrick, Malachi, Autumn, and Everly, one brother, Paul Reid, his beloved nieces and nephews, and his lapdog Diesel.

The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.  A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 pm at Aberdeen First Baptist Church followed by a grave side service at Bethesda Cemetery.
