Edward Joseph Lauer of Foxfire Village passed on from a rich, full life here on earth to be in Heaven with his Lord and Savior on January 2nd. He will be greatly missed by his family, church and many friends from around the world.
Ed was born in Seattle, WA, on July 23, 1944, to William and Mildred Lauer. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill. He was the devoted husband of Mary Anne and loving father of Todd and Zachary (Jennifer) of Aldi, Virginia. He was the adored grandfather (Papa) to Lindsey and Tanner and a caring uncle.
He was a strong Christian, serving in various positions in church and his community as a councilman and Mayor ProTem. He served his country as a career US Army officer and then under the Director of the CIA. His favorite assignment was Greece where he could experience the journeys of the Saints. Ed enjoyed traveling and reading.
Services will be held Friday, January 10, at 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Pinehurst. Reception Following.
