Gloria T. VerHey of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly at the age of 72 in her home on December 9th, 2023.
Born on April 11th, 1951 in Fort Bragg to the late Mildred Wilson, George Wright, and stepfather Julian Wilson, she was born and raised in Aberdeen.
Gloria had a love for life, fashion, art, music, and anything glamorous. She was able to see beauty in all aspects of life. She lit up every room she walked into with her warm smile and contagious laughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ken VerHey.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara T. Lewis; her son, Dean R. Tipton II and her granddaughter Emma Lewis.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Bethesda Cemetery, Aberdeen, NC 2:00 PM with Rev. Archie Stevens officiating.
