Karen Kiser Friede, beloved wife, mother and “Nona” arrived at her heavenly home on Thursday June 15, 2023, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC she was 69 years old. Karen was born on September 22, 1953, in Norton Virginia to Archus Lincoln and Lanora Beatrice Kiser.
Karen was a graduate of Lynch High School in Lynch, KY. She was a graduate of Wayne Community College Dental Hygiene School. Karen worked as a dental hygienist and office manager for Dr. Dennison in Aberdeen for years. Karen was an excellent cook and baker. Many friends and family and Pinecrest Student Athletes got to eat some of Karen’s excellent food over the years.
Karen loved cheering on her children and grandchildren during their time playing sports. Karen was also a die-hard N.C. State Fan and loved watching football.
Karen was a devoted member and loved her church family at Aberdeen First Baptist. Karen served in the choir, and kitchen committee. Karen also dearly loved the members of her Good Samaritan Sunday School Class.
Karen was preceded in death by her daughter Heather, her parents, and her older brother Gary Kiser. Karen is survived by her husband of 49 years Robert L Friede Jr.; children, Matt (Millicent), Adam (Fiancé Leslie), Lora Friede; daughter-in-law Jessica Smith; grandchildren from oldest to youngest Rachel (Eric), Payshance, Madison, Molly, McKayla, and Chance; sister-in-law Phyllis Kiser, sisters Betty Hudson (Bill), Judy Henry (David), Jeannie Terry (Freddy); brother-in-Law Tommy Friede (Luz) and nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
A celebration of life service will take place at Aberdeen First Baptist Church on Wednesday June 21, 2023, at 3:00pm. Visitation will be from2:00pm-3:00pm. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen, NC. Pastor Daryl Cornett, Pastor Michael Branscome and Reverend Freddie Terry will be officiating.
