Ruby Yarborough was born on June 23, 1949, to Annie Jane Blue and Lacey Blue Sr. in Moore County, NC. She peacefully departed this life at the FirstHealth Hospice House on January 25, 2025.
She was preceded in death by both her mother and father, her brother, Lacey Blue Jr., and her eldest son, Michael “Ming” Gillis.
Those left to cherish her loving memories: husband, William Yarborough; sisters, Bonnie Brown and Dorothy Blue Lindsey; two sons, Steven Gillis (Barbara) and Tirrel Gillis (Emily); a daughter-in-law, Mary; her grandchildren, Kristen Jackson, Steven Gillis, Sayvion Gillis, Devonn Gillis, Taqueshia Patterson, Rasheed Gillis, Treniece Gillis, Emanuel Gillis (Steve), Mychel Gillis, Matthew Gillis, Darius Blackhorse, Ethan Blackhorse (Michael), Dominic Gillis, and Carter Gillis (Tirrel); a special niece, Renee Brown (Bonnie); six great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Services were held Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Southern Pines, North Carolina.
