William Rex Wilson, age 94, of Cameron passed away peacefully at his home on New Year’s Day, 2024.
A native of Lee County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Pearl Alexander Wilson. He was a retired farmer and a brick mason early in life. Rex was an active member of Faith Baptist Church and was their oldest living member. He was a good husband, daddy, and grandfather. His kindness and sweet smile will be remembered by all who knew him.
Rex was preceded in death by his wife Betty Simpson Wilson; son, David Wilson; grandsons: Jason, William, and Luke.
He is survived by his children Judy Martin of Cameron, Susie Marsh and husband, Jerry, of Cameron, Ruby Jones of Sanford, Edna Wilson of Carthage, Dannie Wilson of Cameron; sisters: Judith Carter and Bobbyette Stout; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Due to all the sickness in the community the family will only be receiving friends on Wednesday, January, 3, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 824 Claude White Road, Cameron. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. J. Billy Graham and Rev. Willie Bryant officiating. Burial will conclude in the church cemetery.
