Wilma Virginia Cheslock, 100, of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully Friday November 24, 2017 at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Cheslock was born March 3, 1917, in Akron, Ohio to the late James and Lottie Wood Wilkinson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Stanley; sisters, Hazel Fouse of Decatur, IL and Mildred Ewart, Akron, OH.

Wilma spent many years volunteering for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association in Akron. She was honored by the AHA, Summit County Division, with its national Time, Feeling and Focus Award which was endorsed by the Ohio House of Representatives, for her dedication. When she moved to Pinehurst 20years ago, she continued volunteering at Quail Haven Village where she lived for many years.

Mrs. Cheslock liked to travel and did so extensively in Europe. She also enjoyed needlework, reading and word puzzles. Family and friends will miss her thoughtfulness and lovely smile.

Wilma’s survivors include daughters Martha Timmons and husband William of Pinehurst, Virginia Braun and husband Marc of Akron, OH; two grandsons, Brad Braun, Las Vegas, NV and David Braun, Kent, OH; three great grandchildren Quinn, Kensie and Max Braun; sister
Mary Swartzlander, Akron, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date in Akron, OH with arrangements by Billow’s Funeral Homes.
