Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of two individuals following an investigation into the fraudulent sale of a semi-trailer in the Cameron area.
On Friday, April 11, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding a semi-trailer that had been acquired under false pretenses. Investigators recovered the trailer and identified two suspects allegedly responsible for the fraudulent transaction.
On Monday, April 21, investigators located and arrested Seth Carter, age 37, of Cameron, in connection with the incident. During his arrest, a small amount of suspected marijuana was found on his person, and he was issued a citation for simple possession, said Fields in a press release. Carter was charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense and was committed to the Moore County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Wednesday, April 23.
Investigators also arrested James Frye, age 52, of Cameron. During Frye’s arrest, deputies found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession, said Fields. Frye was charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense, felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $6,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Wednesday, May 7.
