Pinehurst residents extremely satisfied survey shows

At the beginning of Tuesday’s Village of Pinehurst Council meeting, Village Manager Jeff Sanborn announced with pride that Pinehurst has been recognized for excellent performance management by the International City Managers Association.

In presenting the award, Sanborn wanted to recognize Lauren Craig, Organizational Performance Director.

“This is a team effort, but you are a central piece of that team that does all our performance management data collection and analysis,” said Sanborn. “Lauren tries to understand what is important to our community and helps us to figure out how we can best meet the quality of life needs that our residents and businesses tell us are important.”

This is the third year in a row that Pinehurst has earned the award. Only 25 other communities in the entire country received an excellent rating.

High Satisfaction Survey Results

Later in the meeting, Craig presented the findings from a recently completed community survey that showed satisfaction with village services is extremely high. A random group of residents received a 32 question survey in the mail this past July. A total of 803 responses were received.

According to the survey done by ETC Institute, 95% of the residents surveyed scored Pinehurst as either excellent or a good place to live. Overall satisfaction with Village services and feeling of safety were also rated very high.

In a separate survey, Pinehurst businesses also responded with very positive overall satisfaction ratings. A total of 75 business surveys were received.

The results will be used by the Village to identify areas that need improvement and look at future needs.
