SCC president invites community to listening forums

As Sandhills Community College gears up to develop its strategic plan for the next four years, it invites the community to contribute invaluable feedback. Dr. Sandy Stewart, president of Sandhills Community College, personally invites all Moore and Hoke County residents to participate in one of the forums held at various locations across both counties.

Lindsey Farmer, dean of planning & research at Sandhills, who leads the strategic planning process, says, “The college recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, and we’re excited to connect with our community as we enter a new phase of strategic planning. This new four-plan will be centered around our three institutional pillars, ‘Learn. Engage. Belong.’ We are eager to begin a new chapter with visionary goals and measurable results leading us into the next 60 years.”

Sandhills recognizes that community engagement is key to understanding our region’s evolving needs. The insights and perspectives shared by community members will play a vital role in shaping the college’s strategic direction for the coming years.

Dr. Stewart emphasizes the importance of community participation in this process, stating, “Sandhills is both part of and servant to the community in Moore and Hoke counties. A community college is not an insulated place. It has a real mission to be externally engaged. So, as we develop our next strategic plan, we need to ensure the community has input and ownership. I’m looking forward to hearing from folks.”
