Karen Rae Worsham, of Southern Pines, NC, passed away March 14, 2024 at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pinehurst. She was 86 years old.
Karen was born in Euclid, Ohio and attended Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland. After moving to Southern Pines, she worked as a registered nurse at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst until she retired. Karen enjoyed meeting people and spending time with her friends and family. She also truly loved animals. One of Karen’s greatest joys was being a dog obedience trainer. For over twenty years, she took great pride in training and showing her beloved schnauzers and poodles, Bert, Ernie, Glory, Holly, Caesar, and Traci.
Karen was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Clifford L. Worsham.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Elizabeth Ford (Shawn), of Southern Pines, NC, her son, Scott Douglas Barrell (Lei), of Honolulu, HI, her granddaughter, Allyson Elizabeth Ford, of Raleigh, NC, and her grandson, First Lieutenant Christopher Thomas Ford, of Ft. Drum, NY. She is also survived by her cherished and loyal poodle, Traci.
