Local fire departments performed a live burn training exercise outside of Vass off Lobelia Road on Saturday.
Crains Creek Fire Department said they teamed up with Robbins Fire and Rescue, Spout Springs Emergency Services, and Carolina Trace Fire Department for the training.

“This type of training is as close as you can get to fighting a real residential fire,” said Crains Creek Fire Department. “The pond on the scene was used for water supply which gave pump operators a great pumping experience.”
Crains Creek Fire Department thanked everyone who participated and for Moore County medic 28 for standing by. Bob’s Pizza supplied food for the firefighters.
The Aberdeen Fire & Rescue Department and other local fire departments will be conducting a live fire training exercise at 820 Carolina Road on Feb. 25 from 8 – 5 p.m.
These types of training exercises allow the departments to be better prepared and trained for future emergencies.
