Moore County Board of Education has appointed Christine Laurita as Principal of Robbins Elementary School, announced the school district Wednesday in a news release.

Laurita started working for Moore County Schools over 25 years ago at Southern Pines Middle School as a fifth grade teacher. She has also worked at Aberdeen Primary, Southern Middle, Westmoore Elementary, Elise Middle, and Highfalls Elementary. Her career with the district spans as as a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal. 

“Laurita holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from State University of New York-College of Cortland, a M.S. in Special Education from Dowling College and a M.A. in School Administration from UNC-Pembroke,” said Moore County Schools.

“I am looking forward to building positive relationships with the staff, the students, their families and the entire Robbins community,” said Laurita. 

Laurita is replacing Kim Bullard who was named the district’s new Director of Exceptional Children’s Services in May.

The school district also announced the school board appointed three new assistant principals: Stacie Jeffreys, Southern Middle School; Selena McNeil, Pinehurst Elementary School; and Amanda Voglezon, Highfalls Elementary and Elise Middle School.
