Scooter driver airlifted after crash

A driver was airlifted following the crash of a scooter on Sunday. Around noon, first responders received an emergency call regarding a wrecked scooter and an unconscious driver and were quick to respond to the scene.

The accident occurred on Roseland Road near Fellowship Way in Pinebluff. Shortly after arrival, an emergency landing zone was established in a nearby field to allow UNC Carolina Air Care to land for transport.

The driver was treated by first responders in an ambulance until he was able to be safely transported to the helicopter. Once his condition was stabilized, he was airlifted to an area trauma center for further treatment. His condition is currently unknown.

Traffic on Roseland Road was stopped in both directions for over an hour while the scene of the crash was investigated and cleared of debris. The cause of the wreck is under investigation at this time.

Responding to the scene were Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Carolina Air Care, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
