Sheriff announces Vass drug arrest

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced in a press release an arrest following a traffic stop in the Vass area of Moore County.

During the early morning hours of July 6, patrol deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 1. As a result of the stop, deputies located and seized approximately 535 grams (1.2 pounds) of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.   

Stephvon Jones, 30, of Apex, was arrested on charges of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Jones was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on July 26.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
