The Aberdeen Police Department announced the arrest of Jamie Latraiv Williams, 43, of Cameron.
On Aug. 2, 2021, Aberdeen officers responded to a suspicious vehicle occupied by two potentially unconscious adults in a parking lot near U.S. Highway 1 and Maple Ave. Upon arrival, officers located Williams and an adult female inside the vehicle, said the Aberdeen Police Department in a press release on Wednesday.
Upon additional investigation, officers located numerous amounts of suspected narcotics, as well as drug paraphernalia, inside the vehicle. Williams allegedly advised that all the contraband was his, and he was charged on the scene with possession of drug paraphernalia, said the department.
The suspected narcotics were submitted to the North Carolina State Crime Lab on Aug. 23, 2021, for testing. On Oct. 5, 2023, the lab confirmed that one of the bags of suspected narcotics was fentanyl.
Warrants were obtained on Williams for felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance. Attempts were made to locate Williams, but he was not found in or around Aberdeen.
On April 8, 2025, Williams was arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. He was then taken before a Cumberland County magistrate, where he was given a $5,000 secured bond.
