Moore County Sheriff’s Office Released their September 2017 Monthly Report below:
During the month of September, our Patrol Deputies averaged eleven minutes and forty-three seconds while responding to 2,903 calls for service. They served 358 civil and 128 criminal papers which included 16 domestic violence orders, made 87 arrests, conducted 688 business checks and transported seven mental patients. Deputies issued 118 traffic citations: 14 citations for driving with a revoked license, one for driving while impaired and 33 for speeding in excess of 15 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. Our Volunteers contributed 314 hours during the month of September.
Sheriff’s Response Team conducted a total of 34 traffic stops, four checking stations and two saturation events resulting in: 34 citations, 13 felony, and eight misdemeanor drug charges. They conducted 24 sex offender checks resulting in one sex offender registration violation, executed one search warrant and assisted Vass and Pinehurst Police Departments on two Governor’s Highway Safety Program saturation events.
Animal Services admitted 111 dogs and 116 cats, returned 16 dogs to their owners, facilitated the adoption of 84 dogs and 85 cats, and conducted 68 field and 107 shelter rabies vaccinations. Deputies investigated 28 animal bites and responded to 161 stray-animal calls.
Detectives arrested 59 suspects totaling 122 felony and 26 misdemeanor charges, opened 109 investigations and recovered $54,511.00 in stolen property. Arrests included: Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Sex Offense of a Child, 41 for Breaking and/or Entering/Larceny, four for Weapons Violations, one for Assault on a Handicapped person, seven for Fraud, one on Drug Violations, one Child Abuse and three on misdemeanor charges.
The Narcotics Division opened 20 investigations and arrested 12 suspects on a total of 49 drug and alcohol violations; one suspect was arrested for doctor shopping/prescription fraud. Narcotic Deputies seized: 45 grams of marijuana, 144 dosage units of prescription pills, 74 grams of cocaine, 102 dosage units of crack-cocaine, 61 grams of methamphetamine four firearms and $2072.00 in US currency; the estimated street value of all drugs seized was approximately $17,940.00. Additionally, Deputies conducted 77 ABC store security checks, 12 ABC premise-outlets inspected and visited 79 additional ABC premise-outlets.
The Sheriff’s Office registered four new sex offenders, transferred one out of the county, updated the status of 21 offenders and is monitoring a total of 119 Moore County registered sex offenders.
In September, we issued 134 pistol purchase permits, 37 new conceal-to-carry permits and renewed 91; totaling 7,640 Moore County citizens with conceal-to-carry permits.
