A 61-year-old Southern Pines man was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond after the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the Southern Pines area on Wednesday.
In a press release, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields stated that detectives searched a home in the 1100 block of West New Hampshire Avenue. During the search, authorities seized suspected cocaine, marijuana, THC oil, and drug paraphernalia, and more than $75,000.
As a result of the investigation, Kenneth Varn was arrested on charges of trafficking in cocaine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on May 22.
