SpringFest is arriving in downtown Southern Pines this Saturday, April 24. It will be a day full of fun with arts, crafts, games, food, and entertainment.
The venue area encompasses Broad Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Connecticut Avenue, the 100 block of W. New Hampshire Avenue, the 100 block E. New Hampshire Avenue and the municipal parking lot off the 100 block of W. New Hampshire Avenue.
To prepare the streets for all the vendors and games, Southern Pines Police Department is reminding citizens of street closures.
“Signs have been posted for two weeks, so please have your vehicle removed by the dates indicated,” said Southern Pines Police Department on social media. “The SPPD will make every effort to contact the registered owner of any vehicle left in the road closure area. The SPPD and event organizers do not want to tow vehicles but will have to tow vehicles if an owner cannot be located.”
The department listed the following road closure areas:
• Town-owned municipal parking lot off the100 block of W. New Hampshire Avenue behind the library. This lot closes on Friday, April 23, starting at 8:00 a.m.
• Beginning at 4 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, Broad Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Connecticut Avenue, the 100 block of W. New Hampshire Avenue, the 100 block E. New Hampshire Avenue.
“We ask that you please practice social distancing and follow the Governor’s Executive Order,” said the department. “Public outdoor events require a face-covering IF you cannot maintain 6 feet social distancing from non-household members, or a medical exception applies. The SPPD is asking that we all please respect each other and the process, and enjoy the event, local businesses, and what the Southern Pines community has to offer.”
SpringFest is a free, family event and is being held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
