Students safe after bus accident

Thirty-two North Moore High School students on bus 56 were uninjured Friday morning outside of Robbins after a crash with another vehicle on Highway 24/27 near Ruth Road, according to Moore County Schools Director for Communication Charles Batchelor.

As a precautionary measure, the bus driver was taken to Moore Regional Hospital.

The principal of North Moore High School and a school resource officer went to the accident scene.

Batchelor stated that the guardians of the students were informed.

Students were safely transported to school by another bus that picked them up at the crash site and any remaining students still on the bus route.

“We are grateful that no students were injured in this morning’s bus accident,” said Batchelor. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our utmost priorities. We extend our sincere appreciation to the State Highway Patrol, first responders, School Resource Officers, and school staff for their swift and professional response on the scene.”
