Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A Robbins man faces drug charges after being pulled over by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel.

Bobby Frye, 51, was arrested on charges of felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance- (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The traffic stop occurred in the 4300 block of Highway 705 in Robbins.

“The stop was initiated for multiple moving violations by the driver of the vehicle,” said Fields. “During the traffic stop, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle which resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia belonging to the passenger of the vehicle.”

Frye was held without bond pending an appearance before a district court judge on Thursday to determine pretrial release conditions. Frye being held without bond is based upon the recently enacted HB813, Pretrial Integrity Act, which came into effect on Oct. 1.

Frye has a separate court date of Jan. 4 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
