two arrested heroin probation search

Two women are facing several drug charges after being arrested Tuesday.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrests in a statement Wednesday morning.

“Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted Moore County Probation/Parole with a search of a residence in the 200 block of Jesse Phillips Road,” said Fields regarding the investigation in the Glendon/High Falls area.  “As a result of the search, a wanted individual, narcotics, and items of drug paraphernalia were located inside the residence.”

Arrested were Cheryl Leann Smith, 50, and Kelly Diane Bartholomew, 38, both from Robbins.

Smith was charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, and harboring a fugitive. Her bond was set at $15,000.

Bartholomew was placed under a $12,500 bond and charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bartholomew was also served with an outstanding parole warrant with no bond.
 
The suspects have a July 29 court date and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
