Two facing charges in Eagle Springs Drug investigation

Two people were arrested and are facing charges following the execution of a search warrant in Eagle Springs.

According to a press release from Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 9400 block of N.C. Highway 705 in Eagle Springs on August 27. During the search, investigators reportedly seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, amphetamine, marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Anthony Early, 25, of Eagle Springs, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for a controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on September 17.

Sonya Early, 56, also of Eagle Springs, was arrested and charged with resisting a public officer. She was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on September 17.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
