Anyone playing loud music in Pinehurst will be subject to a fine if the Village Council approves changes to the nuisance ordinance at their next meeting. The issue was first raised after a loud private function at a property on Magnolia Road this past June.
Village Manager Jeff Sanborn led a far-reaching discussion at the last council meeting on Tuesday. How to measure the sound, unintended consequences, what the fine should be and what to do with repeat offenders were all brought up.
The measure will be considered again during the next meeting of the Village Council on Sept. 22. If approved, language would be added to ordinances already in place under the Nuisances; Environmental Protection section.
