Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced an arrest following an investigation in the West End.
On May 14, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an alleged assault on an elderly man that occurred at a residence in West End. The man was transported to Moore Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On May 15, sheriff’s investigators arrested Brandy Scarboro, 40, of West End, in connection with the assault. Scarboro is facing charges of one count of felony assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony abuse of a disabled or elder person, felony neglect of a disabled or elder person, and one count of felony second-degree kidnapping.
Scarboro was committed to the Moore County Detention Center without bond pending an appearance in Moore County district court on May 30. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty.Â
