West End woman facing fraud charges

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said a woman from West End is facing fraud charges.

“On March 19, 2024, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a financial card fraud after multiple unauthorized charges were discovered on a personal financial account in West End, North Carolina,” said Fields in a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel.

Sheriff investigators arrested 41-year-old Julie Yates on March 27 on charges of one count of felony identity theft and one count of misdemeanor financial card fraud and was committed to the Moore County Detention Center without bond pending a first court appearance in Moore County district court on April 25.

Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
