Woman accused of credit card fraud at Aberdeen McDonald's

Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis announced a warrant was issued for Makayla McGill, 30, of Southern Pines, for her arrest for felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

The investigation began on Nov. 14 when the Aberdeen Police Department received a report of credit card fraud at McDonald’s.

“Through an investigation that included reviewing video surveillance and obtaining witness statements, Aberdeen Patrol Officers identified McGill as the suspect,” said Chavis in a press release. “McGill is accused of executing a fraudulent transaction, resulting in property being obtained by false pretenses.”

The Southern Pines Police Department apprehended McGill on Nov. 16 for her outstanding warrant and additional charges.

The suspect was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $6,000 secured bond.
