On June 23, the Moore County Health Department was notified of the death of a Moore County resident whose death was determined to be related to COVID-19 infection. The individual passed away on June 17 and was a resident of Fox Hollow, a Moore County residential care facility.
Today’s reported death brings Moore County’s total to thirteen deaths that have been attributed to COVID-19 thus far. Moreover, it is the eighth such death linked to a nursing home or residential care facility in Moore County and the second tied to Fox Hollow.
Fox Hollow independently scheduled and performed testing for residents and staff through the in-home primary care company “Doctors Making House Calls” on June 10. That testing generated a total of eight positive cases (6 residents, 2 staff). Fox Hollow has not had any additional positive cases since that time.

In total, there have been 394 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Moore County to date.
To protect privacy, no further information about the individuals who have tested positive will be shared by the Health Department.
Moore County Health Department staff are monitoring individuals who have tested positive and will follow up with anyone who is identified as a close contact. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines “close contact” as being within six feet for 10 minutes or more.
