On July 2, the Aberdeen Police Department announced the arrest of Timothy Guin Jr., 34 years of age, of Aberdeen.
“On April 24, patrol officers and investigators with the Aberdeen Police Department were called to a wooded area behind Poplar Street in reference to possible drug activity,” stated the Aberdeen Police Department. “Upon arrival, officers and investigators searched the area and observed a motorcycle with a male driver and attempted to stop it.”
The driver of the motorcycle allegedly fled, performing various evasive maneuvers. Aberdeen officers continued to investigate the incident and identified witnesses that led to the seizure of the motorcycle from a residence off Stephanie Street.
Officers and investigators were later able to identify the suspect as Guin. The Aberdeen Police Department stated that warrants were taken out on Guin on May 9 for the following charges: felony flee and elude arrest with a motor vehicle, fictitious tag, expired registration, no insurance, failure to heed blue lights and sirens, no inspection, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving left of center, fail to stop at a steady red light, and no operator’s license.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, numerous attempts were made to locate Guin in and around Aberdeen. On July 1, Guin was located in Greensboro and was taken before a Guilford County Magistrate and was remanded to the Guilford County Detention Center under a $5,000.00 secured bond. In addition, Guin was served with an outstanding warrant for felony probation violation.
All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
