Crews battle woods fire on Old Glendon Road

Carthage Fire & Rescue responded to a three-acre woods fire on Old Glendon Road on Friday, the department announced on its Facebook page.

Highfalls Fire Department and the N.C. Forest Service assisted in bringing the fire under control.

A plow was utilized to establish a fire break and prevent further spread.

Thanks to the agencies’ quick response and teamwork, the fire was contained with no reported injuries or structure damage.

“As dry conditions continue, we remind everyone to be cautious with outdoor burning and to follow local burn regulations,” said Carthage Fire & Rescue.
