Last week, the Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway made an announcement about their inaugural Carolina Christmas Train.
They made the announcement with the following statement, “The holiday season is about to get even more enchanting as the Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway announces its first-ever Carolina Christmas Train. The Carolina Christmas Train will deliver an extra twinkle to the holidays as it departs the quiet town of Star, NC. Start your Christmas experience as you wander through the Carolina Christmas Village before you embark on your memorable train journey. The Carolina Christmas Train will create cherished memories and spread holiday cheer throughout the community.”
The train ride will begin and end at STARworks in Star, travel about 3 miles west of Star, and then return. “The trip will last about an hour and 15 minutes,” said Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway owner and President Jennifer White.
Before boarding the train, you can experience the magic of the Christmas Village. You can step into a winter wonderland and enjoy food from local food trucks, get a drink at STARworks taproom, and shop for handblown glass ornaments.
There will be two classes of tickets with different ticket options, and prices are between $45-$100. Family class is for all ages, and you can enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, singing, lights, and Santa.
Adult class will be available for 21 and older. You can enjoy Champagne and cocktails, singing, lights, and Santa.
The Carolina Christmas Train will be every Friday and Saturday night beginning Nov. 24 until Dec. 23. Additional rides will be offered on Dec. 19-21. Departure times will be 5 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
“We believe this enchanting journey will unite and promote all the surrounding communities and embrace the spirit of Christmas,” added White and CEO and co-owner Anthony Menzies.
