Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Maddie’s Fund foundation.

The grant money will be used to create a better adoption environment within the shelter to help facilitate more adoptions, equaling more animals saved from the local community.

Maddie’s Fund® is a family foundation that awards grants to be used towards increasing community lifesaving, shelter medicine education, and pet adoptions across the United States.

The Mission of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services is to promote an environment of responsible pet ownership through progressive animal welfare initiatives, community outreach and humane education in a culture of compassion, creativity, and integrity and to enforce county and state animal laws. This Mission will be accomplished in partnership with the citizens of Moore County through the highest ethical, professional, and legal standards.

The grant money awarded to the shelter will also help to find homes for the animals like Fergus.  Fergus is a Border Collie who is a one-year-old male and weighs 50 pounds.  His kennel ID number is 67400.
