A group of Union Pines High School seniors marked the next step in their athletic careers Wednesday as 18 student-athletes signed letters of intent to compete at the collegiate level.
Union Pines High School held its final signing day of the school year and celebrated athletes from nine different sports who committed to play for colleges and universities across the region and beyond. Thirteen athletes signed during a morning ceremony, while five football players finalized their commitments later in the afternoon.
School officials said the event recognized the students’ years of work in the classroom and on the field, as well as the support of their families, teammates, and coaches.
